Article from 2013

Enid, Oklahoma -

Brian Bosworth is spreading a message across Oklahoma and tonight he's bringing it to Enid. He's wanting people to slow down and cherish the moment they're currently in. Unlike his hard hitting, life in the fast lane football days, Brian has now found comfort in slowing down and taking time to reflect on his spiritual side. He would like you to grab a friend or family member and spend two hours listening to his testimony tonight while reprogramming yourself. Brian says, "People aren't taking the time to feed their spiritual side."

Brian was born in Oklahoma and spent a lot of time on his grand-parents working farm in Meeker, Oklahoma. Up until the age of eleven he has great memories of living in Oklahoma and working on the farm. During the screening event Brian fills the crowd in on his remarkable journey from high school, through college and beyond his professional football days. He talks about recently being Saved while touring Oklahoma and how it has changed his perspective on his eternal life. You'll want to come to the screening to hear Brian speak about this important phase of his journey.

Today, Brian has partnered with Wallis Marsh, another OU player, and spends part of his time in the oil and gas business. Wallis was instrumental in getting Brian out of California and back to Texas. Ironically he now lives in Austin and spends time working with the Railroad Commission expediting applications for wells, dealing with permits and going into the field. Brian is still active in the acting business but does not pursue it.

As Brian was transitioning out of California and planning his wedding he was approached to do this movie. Although not interested in the project at first he was prodded into reading the script and quickly discovered that he related to the character. The character was somebody he could identify with. There's a message there of a religious nature and Brian told me he would encourage non-Christians to come see the movie more than he would Christians.

Even though "Revelation Road: The Beginning of the End" is a faith based movie it is full of action and has great undertones of realism to it. "The director made this a mainstream movie that would entertain Christians and non-Christians alike", Brian told me. He also said, "It deals with where our society is and the way that we deal with each other. The movie is about identifying who you are as an individual and where you are as an individual so that you can prepare yourself if you are not where you need to be. It's a reflection of each individuals path."

Brian picked Oklahoma to screen the movie because this is where he feels his roots are. He felt compelled to bring this to Oklahoma even though at the time he didn't know what the mission was. He woke up one morning and told his wife he'd love to share this movie and his own personal story with the people of Oklahoma. Brain told me, "I felt like people could identify with the journey I've been on and have a better understanding of some of the things I've gone through."

Brian is self financing this tour but is receiving a large amount of support from the communities, venues and churches that he is visiting. He's providing a two hour autograph session where individuals can purchase a DVD, Blu-Ray or a collectible movie poster. The movie poster was his idea and he had one made that will only be available on this tour. Brain said, "I felt it would be something people would want to collect."  Brian signs the movie memorabilia and will focus on the message of the movie during the meet and greet.

At 48 years old, Brian continues to workout and stay in shape. Even though his body has gone through over 20 surgeries, including two shoulder replacements, knee surgeries, discs in his neck and back being replaced, he feels he has been blessed to still be able to workout. At 235 lbs., he knows he's not 20 year old strong but he feels complete whereas in the 90's he felt incomplete.

"Revelation Road: The Beginning of the End" was split into two parts. Part one will be released to the general public, on DVD, at the end of March after this initial Oklahoma screening. Part two will come out in limited release in theaters later this summer.

The movie screening will take place in the Oakwood Christian Church sanctuary at 6pm tonight, March 13th. From 4pm-6pm Brian will be available to personalize/autograph your movie DVD, Blu-Ray and Poster in the Oakwood Activity Center, 401 N Oakwood Rd.. Brian will also be at the screening in person for Q & A time after the movie.
